Kingdom Labourers
HYMN
1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I’m onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher
ground.”
Refrain:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s tableland,
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
2. My heart has no desire to
stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where those abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
3. I want to live above the
world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
4. I want to scale the utmost
height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till heav’n I’ve found,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher
ground.”

Verse:
John 4: 34-36 (Amp) Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. 35 You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe[a] for harvest. 36 The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!

Text Review:
Matt 5: 1-17 (Amp) When Jesus
saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and when He was seated, His
disciples came to Him. 2 Then He began to teach them, saying,
To teach:
Isaiah 55: 2 (AMP) “Why do you spend money for that which is not
bread,
And your earnings for what does
not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat
what is good,
And let your soul delight in
[a]abundance.
Isaiah 55:2 (TLB) Why spend your
money on food that doesn’t give you strength? Why pay for groceries that do you
no good? Listen and I’ll tell you where to get good food that fattens up the
soul!
Correct attitudes, behaviours
and benefits of same;
3 “Blessed [spiritually
prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of
spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs
is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].
4 “Blessed [forgiven, refreshed
by God’s grace] are those who mourn [over their sins and repent], for they will
be comforted [when the burden of sin is lifted].
5 “Blessed [inwardly peaceful,
spiritually secure, worthy of respect] are the [b]gentle [the kind-hearted, the
sweet-spirited, the self-controlled], for they will inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed [joyful, nourished by
God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who
actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely]
satisfied.
7 “Blessed [content, sheltered
by God’s promises] are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
8 “Blessed [anticipating God’s
presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity,
moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God.
9 “Blessed [spiritually calm
with life-joy in God’s favor] are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they
will [express His character and] be called the sons of God.
10 “Blessed [comforted by inner
peace and God’s love] are those who are persecuted for [c]doing that which is
morally right, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].
11 “Blessed [morally courageous
and spiritually alive with life-joy in God’s goodness] are you when people
insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil things against
you because of [your association with] Me. 12 Be glad and exceedingly joyful,
for your reward in heaven is great [absolutely inexhaustible]; for in this same
way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13 “You are the [d]salt of the
earth; but if the salt has [e]lost its taste (purpose), how can it be made
salty? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and walked on by
people [when the walkways are wet and slippery]. (Prayer)
Reference: 2Kings2:20-21 He said, “Bring me a new jar, and put [b]salt
in it.” So they brought it to him. 21 Then Elisha went to the spring of water
and threw the salt in it and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘I [not the salt] have
purified and healed these waters; there shall no longer be death or barrenness
because of it.’”
14 “You are the light of [Christ
to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light
a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all
who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that
they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor
and] glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Prayer)
17 “Do not think that I came to
do away with or undo the [f]Law [of Moses] or the [writings of the] Prophets; I
did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For I assure you and most solemnly
say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke
[of the pen] will pass from the Law until all things [which it foreshadows] are
accomplished. 19 So whoever breaks one of the least [important] of these
commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least
[important] in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them,
he will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Prayer).
PRAYERS
- Righteousness – Matt 5: 20 (Amp) “For I say to you that unless your righteousness (uprightness, moral essence) is more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Remember John 3: 1-16. Hosea 10:12 – (KJV) Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Prayer: Father rain your
righteousness on me!
- Descipleship – John 8: 12 (KJV) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. 1 John 1:6-7 (KJV) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Luke 9:23 (Amp) - And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross daily [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].
Prayer: (a) Lord, I seek true
Fellowship. Therefore, Lord Cure me of blindness, help me to see you! So I
don’t walk in darkness and accurately follow you.
(b) Help me to deny myself and
take my cross daily and follow you
- Obedience - Heb 11: 8-10 (amp) By faith Abraham, when he was called [by God], obeyed by going to a place which he was to receive as an inheritance; and he went, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he lived as a foreigner in the Promised Land, as in a strange land, living in tents [as nomads] with Isaac and Jacob, who were fellow heirs of the same promise. 10 For he was [waiting expectantly and confidently] looking forward to the city which has foundations, [an eternal, heavenly city] whose architect and builder is God.
Prayer: Convenient or not, as
for me and my house we will serve you in obedience looking forward to the city
which has foundations and eternal heavenly city whose architect and builder is
God
- Faith – Eph 2: 8 (Amp)- For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God. Heb 11:1 -3 (Amp) Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. 2 For by this [kind of] faith the [a]men of old gained [divine] approval. By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.
Prayer: Lord, I seek this kind
of Faith, by this men of old gained your approval.
- Study – 2 Tim 2:15 (Amp)- Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth. Psalm 119: 147-148 (Amp) I rise before dawn and cry [in prayer] for help; I wait for Your word. 148 My eyes anticipate the night watches and I awake before the call of the watchman, that I may meditate on Your word.
Prayer: Help me rise up early to
spend quality time studying your word so that as a disciple I can accurately
handle the word of truth
- Prayerlife – (Hab 2:1-2) I will stand at my guard post And station myself on the tower; And I will keep watch to see what He will say to me, And what answer I will give [as His spokesman] when I am reproved. (prayer)
God’s Promise
As Kingdom Labourers, be
encouraged. There is a shout of a King amongst you. You have the mandate. Go
out there make disciples of men, do it with Boldness, with the power of God and
with a sound mind knowing that there is a reward awaiting you. The Lord has
also promised that he will be with you all the way, so do not be afraid of any
terror by night or the arrow that flies at noon day.
Isiah 43: 1-17
The Lord says; “When thou pass
through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not
overflow thee: when thou walk through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy
One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for
thee. Since thou was precious in my
sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give
men for thee, and people for thy life.
Fear not: for I am with thee: I
will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give
up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters
from the ends of the earth; Even every one that is called by my name: for I
have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. Bring
forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears. Let all the
nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them
can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their
witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.
Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye
may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no
God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside
me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed,
when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith
the Lord, that I am God. Yea, before the day was I am he;
and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall
let it? Thus saith the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your
sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the
Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator
of Israel, your King. Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a
path in the mighty waters; Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army
and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are
extinct, they are quenched as tow. Remember ye not the former things, neither
consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring
forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and
rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and
the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to
give drink to my people, my chosen. This people have I formed for myself; they
shall shew forth my praise.
